As part of a national workplace rollout program managed by Hunter Mason, Insignia Financial required a furniture partner capable of supporting multiple workplace fitouts across Australia while meeting fixed construction milestones.
COS Working Spaces was engaged to deliver coordinated workplace furniture solutions across Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth, covering six floors across three locations. The solution combined nationally consistent product standards with site-specific customisation, helping each project remain aligned with the broader construction program and agreed budget requirements.

The Workplace Furniture Challenge
Insignia Financial became a COS Working Spaces customer in 2023 following discussions about its commercial furniture requirements and future workplace projects.
The national rollout included three sites across Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth, with each location occupying two floors. Adelaide and Brisbane involved existing workplaces, while Perth formed part of a new building fitout.
At project commencement, the COS Working Spaces specialist team was provided with a generic furniture schedule outlining the expected workplace requirements across the portfolio. While this provided a national framework, each location also had its own architect and designer specifications. The furniture solution therefore needed to provide consistency across the three locations while allowing flexibility for individual floorplates and design requirements.
Insignia Financial had previously sourced furniture from established premium suppliers, so any proposed alternative needed to deliver a comparable standard of design, functionality and workplace performance while also meeting project budget requirements.
Timing added another layer of complexity. Furniture deliveries and installations needed to align with fixed construction programs that could not be altered. Contract conditions included liquidated damages and withheld securities, increasing the importance of dependable lead times, proactive communication and accurate project coordination throughout the rollout.
COS Working Spaces’ National Furniture Solution
COS Working Spaces developed a coordinated furniture strategy combining national product standardisation with site-specific solutions.
Approximately 90% of the overall furniture scope was delivered through the COS Working Spaces direct import range. This helped the projects meet budget requirements while maintaining the quality, visual standard and functionality expected across all three locations.
Where consistency made sense, product selections were standardised nationally. This created a more efficient procurement and delivery model while establishing a common workplace furniture standard across the portfolio.
Where individual sites required different solutions, COS Working Spaces adapted furniture specifications to suit the relevant floorplate, architectural requirements and design brief.
Custom furniture design was also an important part of the solution. COS Working Spaces developed in-house workstation solutions and custom high tables to meet project specifications without introducing extended manufacturing lead times or unnecessary costs.
Additional customised elements included Autex acoustic screens to support acoustic and privacy requirements and soft wiring configured to individual project specifications.

Project Outcomes
COS Working Spaces successfully delivered and installed the required workplace furniture across all three locations in line with each site’s construction milestones, helping the projects remain aligned with the broader construction program.
All three projects were completed within the agreed timeframes and budget parameters despite the complexity of coordinating six floors across multiple Australian locations, varying architectural specifications and fixed construction schedules.
The rollout demonstrated COS Working Spaces’ capability to manage complex, multi-site workplace furniture projects across Australia while combining national product consistency with local project requirements.
The successful delivery also established COS Working Spaces as an ongoing furniture partner for Insignia Financial. Additional orders have continued following completion of the initial projects, with a furniture product standard now in place to support future workplace requirements.
