Wallis Drilling Case Study

Want to know what we can do for your business space?

Wallis Drilling is a leading, family-owned Australian mineral drilling contractor founded in 1965, known for inventing the revolutionary Aircore drilling system in the 1970s. The company recently relocated to a new, two-story premises and required a full furniture fitout.

SNAPSHOT

Wallis Drilling’s relationship with COS began through a chance conversation between Grant Wallis and Belinda Lyone, that quickly developed into a major furniture project for the company’s new two-level premises. Although Wallis Drilling had not previously purchased from COS, the customer quickly became confident that COS understood and could ably handle the scale, timing and practical requirements of the relocation.

Over approximately two years, COS remained responsive through planning changes, revised layouts and multiple requotes, guiding the project from initial concept through to final delivery. The successful outcome demonstrated COS’ ability to combine consultative advice, space planning and dependable execution to support a complex workplace transition.

THE SITUATION

As Wallis Drilling prepared to relocate into a new two-level building, the business required a furniture solution that could support the practical needs of its new workplace. The opportunity emerged when Grant Wallis met Belinda Lyone at a course and mentioned the upcoming move. Belinda introduced COS as an experienced furniture partner with the capability to support workplace fitouts of this scale. Wallis Drilling needed more than product supply alone. The team wanted informed recommendations, space planning, flexible quoting and a reliable delivery process that could bring the project together across both levels of the new premises.

THE SOLUTION

COS worked closely with Grant Wallis and his Executive Assistant to coordinate product selection, space planning, quoting and delivery preparation for the new building. As layouts and furniture requirements evolved, the team prepared multiple revisions and requotes, giving Wallis Drilling the flexibility to refine the project while maintaining momentum. Floor plans were developed for the open areas to help the customer visualise how each setting would function within the space.

This consultative approach ensured the selected products were practical, fit for purpose and aligned with the needs of the workplace. From the initial introduction through to completion approximately two years later, COS remained engaged and responsive, demonstrating the experience and capability required to manage a furniture project of this size from concept to delivery.

THE SUCCESS

Through careful consultation, adaptable planning and dependable delivery, COS completed a successful furniture solution for Wallis Drilling’s new premises. The customer was pleased with both the products selected and the delivery process, reflecting the value of COS’ product knowledge and coordinated project support.

By earning trust early and maintaining that confidence throughout an extended project timeline, COS established itself as a capable furniture partner for complex workplace projects. The result was a smooth transition into the new location and a workspace solution shaped around Wallis Drilling’s operational requirements.

“Our experience working with COS on the furniture fitout was positive. Throughout the project, the team maintained open and transparent communication, keeping us informed at every stage. While there were some delays on our side relating to site readiness and access, COS remained flexible and proactive, working collaboratively to adapt to changing circumstances beyond their control. Their professionalism and commitment to achieving a successful outcome made them a valued project partner”
